Call for Abstracts

All participants are invited to submit an abstract, maximum one page. If figures and tables are included a second page can be used.

The topics for the First International Congress on Gerontological/Geriatric Audiology (1st ICGA) - Stockholm, Sweden, June 6-9, 2004 are focused on the many different aspects of Audiological/Communicative problems in the Elderly.

1. Physiological and morphological aspects
2. Psychological consequences and rehabilitation
3. Hearing aids and assisting hearing devices
4. Gerontological aspects of communication
5. Epidemiology of age-related hearing loss
6. Cognition and central processing
7. Tinnitus in old age
8. Cochlear implants in old age
9. Balance disorders with increasing age
10. Others

The abstract deadline is January 15th, 2004 (date of receipt).

The corresponding author will be noticed of the committee´s decision on the submitted abstracts by February/March, 2004.

The abstract should be submitted on-line according to the instructions.

Please note that the abstract will not be edited in any way.

Accepted abstracts will be printed (format A5) in an abstract book and/or on a CD-ROM.

Abstract Instructions

1. The abstract must be prepared in Microsoft Word (version Word 95 or higher) and saved as a PDF-file if possible.
2. The abstract should be written in English and should be single-spaced throughout.
3. The abstract should be written with type face Times and the font format should be 12.
4. Maximum one page, if figures and tables are included a second page can be used, size A4 (i.e. 210 x 297 mm) with 2.5 cm margins on all four sides.
5. All figures incl. captions should be placed on page two.
6. Figures should be saved as GIF or JPEG and must not exceed 600 dpi/figure.
7. The abstract must not exceed 1 MB incl. Figures and tables.
8. The abstract should be headed by the title, authors(s), affiliations(s), address(es).
9. The abstract should also contain telephone number, fax number and e-mail address to the corresponding author.
10. Underline the name of the presenting author.
11. Begin the text two lines below the last line of the author/affiliation section.
12. Abstract submission by ordinary e-mail will not be accepted.
13. Abstract should be submitted on-line according to the abstract instructions. Please follow the Abstract Template
14. The author is responsible for typing errors in the title and abstract.

Replacing/correcting an abstract submission

Do not resubmit an abstract through the website. If you should have any corrections, please state your name and abstract title, and send a completely new abstract as by e-mail to the abstract secretariat: icga2004@stocon.se (this is only valid before January 15th, 2004).
